Who could give me ideas about starting my own business – helping businesses with their research and writing?

I have a B.A. in English. My work experience includes proofreading and writing. I’ve had a difficult time finding jobs in the southwestern city I live in, and am getting tired working for a boss. I enjoy learning new things about health mostly, but also am interested in many other subjects, so I’d offer my research services to people or businesses that don’t have time to do research. Yes, they could use Google or Yahoo Answers, but I would offer to do more thorough research. I would use not only the Internet, but also go to the library and bookstores to search for info-then offer to write up my findings in a summary….Does this sound like a good service to offer? How much would I charge? Based on my level of experience, or looking at what other “information consultants” might charge?

You would be perfect for an online copywriting business. There are many websites who need proofreading and you can do that work for them making sure that their sentences are gramatically correct and free of errors.

Or you can consider an information broker business, where you do research for other people and help them find information (much more detailed and accurate than something like Yahoo Answers).
