UK Insurance query. A business applies for contents insurance, gives all the info required then has to make?

a claim as something has been damaged, the loss adjustor comes out and tells her that she is ‘under-insured’ and as such, wont be paying out. Is this legal, does she have any recourse to appeal and how was she to know that she was ‘under-insured’ if the company (a major insurance co) gave the quote based on what she told them?

I am not sure but you would think that, based on proportional representation, an insurance company would pay an amount in relation to the sum insured against the amount calculated by the loss adjuster. It seems unfair if the insurer indicates that he will not make a payment at all. There is no way that an insured party can be assured that their value of the contents is totally correct. I would certainly appeal against this unfair decision.
