The 10 best tips for business networking
The ten best tips for business networking
I firmly believe in the power network as I have seen first hand how it helped me grow professionally and personally. You must be consistent with networking efforts and that goes for both online networks and offline.
There are some basic tips you should remember when it comes networking and they are as follows:
1. Network is not to sell your business or products
people you meet.
2. Do not come on too strong the first time you meet new people.
3. Share about yourself, not just your business. "People Business
with people you trust and people they have learned to know. "
4. Ask people what they do and invite them to share about themselves
and their company.
5. Listen more than you speak and ask questions that will get people
talking – not just a yes or a no.
6. Take notes on things that people have that might be useful to
yourself or others.
* Hint * I keep factsheets on business contacts in a file box. I'll write about this business contact on the cards.
7. Find ground with the person you get to know. "People
do business with people like themselves. "
8. If asked what you do not give someone a long sales pitch. Keep
it short and informative. If they want more, they ask.
9. Tell always the person you spoke with him was a pleasure
meet them and ask if it is ok if you add them to your contact
the list.
10. Ask to their card – this way you can be sure there
followed. You can exchange business cards if you wish, but always
the card online or if their e-mail or IM name. Ask permission to
reconnect with them.
