What hardware and software should I use for a simple SMB network computer? Why?
I was responsible for purchasing hardware and software for a small company (20 employees) that uses both Macintosh and IBM computers. What are your recommendations? Why? What Your experiences are. Since it is a mixed environment Ethernet is the logical choice for the type of network. There are several suppliers hub you could use for a wired network. If you do not have huge problems data security (security on the wireless can become complicated) and limited bandwidth (54 Mbps), you can go wireless (802.11b / g). Make sure you have a broadband connection to the Internet if you go for MS Dynamics Hosted direction. Microsoft has white papers on these kinds things …. Good Luck
