What is the global standard for international phone numbers?
Is there something like an ISO standard that governs the proper format used for an international phone number? I see more often the symbol used to indicate the international dialing prefix (Eg 81 = Japan). Is this standard to remove all spaces, parentheses, dashes and other punctuation and publish the numbers like this: I 81.01234567890 ask because I want to standardize international company telephone numbers of business cards, annual reports, promotional materials, websites, etc.
