Improve your merchandising to increase sales on your business start

I remember when I was seven (7) years, there was this little retail store in our city. This small retail store was a really small space storage, you would have to inform the clerks of your orders and wait it because they need to get their stocks back yard.

The only thing I noticed was that they had posters announcing attractive brand names and some promotions like "buy 3 soap brand X and get one free" or "2% discount on all sandwiches extends the brand Z ".

And outside of this small retail store, they had large tarps that said "150 first customers to get 2 free lottery tickets. "Almost every week, they had catchy tarps outside that describe a brief summary their current promo for the week.

After 20 years, this little grocery store became a giant next to her are three other buildings. The mall, a commercial building and a call center and they have all these properties. This small shop retail suddenly become wet- a business giant in our city in a span of 20 years.

One weekend I went in that store giant grocery store to buy snacks for my wife (she likes to eat chocolate and chips a lot) and had the chance to see the owner (currently president of their association) of the "now" giant.

He was doing his usual round of promotional merchandise to verify the store.
In fact, I knew the owner since My grandmother was one of its largest customers on their start-up activities.

Also, when I was still working as an account manager for one of the largest companies in the Philippines, his store has was one of my customer list. Although during this time, I was already in talks with its buyer, we have had conversations from time to another.

He said he just returned from his trip to London, so I am a bit curious and I asked him "What a 67 year old man bothers to check details like promotional merchandising, should not relax? . I-story, some humiliated by his answer "Well son, this little detail has been x-factor of our business successfully." He added by saying " company can not survive without merchandising and promotional tactics.

Having been in the world of marketing and business, I thought it certainly point. We, as a new emerging entrepreneurs, have really taken for granted the importance of merchandising.

Well, I want you all to be guided since we are talking about creating business ideas here, then I invite you to follow the strategy of this old man. But first, define Merchandising is that if we are on the same page.

In a word, is just merchandising to maximize sales of your products through the display of good good product design, packaging, price visual and product description.

Here are the business ideas that I learned from our conversation:

Idea # 1 – Merchandising does not much additional costs.
In most cases, the product description, packaging, price are already included in your business you first start the search, the cost is actually involved. The important thing that every point of sale merchandising are insist on your product itself.

Idea # 2 – Visual Merchandising does not take much time at the customer.
I think you will agree with me that We all live in a constantly fast. Therefore, having good merchandising display attracts customers who are pressed for time and therefore takes a product without second thoughts and go directly to the verification counter. A visual merchandising strategy is often considered as available " of all consumer needs "in which, by scanning, it may already find that his research.

Idea # – Highlighted Promotional Merchandising work.
Based on experience, promotions really work to boost sales of starting your business. I remember when I started in my distribution business, we sold canned condensed milk to retail stores in our town and had a very good price advantage over the competition.

But even with this advantage, sales never really in this well. So I wrote a check on my top 20 customers and found that almost all My book shelves are not an eye-level, and worse, it has not highlighted the price.

I spoke to all owners of my top 20 customers and were able to get a "free" compromise to set the display sharing and giving me the eye level display between my competitors. And the results were amazing, during this week alone we are able to grow our sales for canned milk to 227% using just a few promotional merchandising techniques.

Now, I hope you already get the idea of starting a business on the simple but effective merchandising works.
