business titles
What is the title of a small business owner?
I’m curious as to what the title of a small business owner would be. Particularly of a software development business. I know that for a company it would be something along the lines of director CEO but I don’t know for a small business.
The answer to this question is so much fun that I have to tell you! You can call yourself anything that you want! When you are filling out the forms as an owner, many states list an option to have an owner’s title! You can be called anything you want. CEO is normal, but you can be called the Chief or the Big Cheese! I knew a guy who liked the Flintstones a lot and wanted to have the title Grand Poobah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes! It really depends on your preference. It is different when you become a corporation, but until then!! You don’t actually have to have anyone call you by your title, you can just be the owner or president in your office, but on paper… Enjoy!
