software business model
I am developing and modeling a mathematical formula for economic prediction?
Anyone interested? How can I turn this formula into a software and sell it to companies or use this knowledge and get a position within business modeling?
You probably cannot. Time series modeling is already done by software for the purposes of prediction. Extensive programs such as MatLab and SAS, as well as more specialized programs such as eViews, Gauss and Stata would make any such program an anachronism that no one would pay for since they already probably have a large investment in learning to use the above. Further, there are hundreds of thousands of hours in development time in creating SAS and MatLab and the software has independent validation so it can be trusted without further testing.
Business modeling is a much in demand occupation but the credentials are minimally a master’s degree in the appropriate discipline, though a person with a master’s degree would most likely need to be supervised by someone with a doctorate. You should be able to show at least three graduate semesters of training in econometrics and time series analysis. It would also help if you had experience with non-parametric techniques as well.
