Is HP a good laptop brand to get?

I’m just starting my first year of university and I’m taking business administration. I want to type out all my notes as the professeur speaks which is why I want a laptop. Another reason is for a spreadsheet and a word document. If I can get a decent laptop for under 1000$, that’d be great, but I doubt there are many good ones for that price, considering I want many of the features that a PC has.

prolly be lucky to get 5 or more years …..i’d get a mac they don’t get viruses which pretty much sells itself. they are not as cheap. HP is shiny but it’s built to break >:\
Dell is better but not by much Gateway is the worst out of all of them
my sister had a Sony lap top that worked great for being 8 or more years old i was impressed. a Sony (not the one that’s recalled for overheating lithium batteries) seems to last a long time and are dependable. kinda strong lil soldiers of the from the of empire electronics
