HoneyMooning in Chicago w/ our 2 yr old. Anyone know of Childcare Places that have great ratings & a website?

We have never left our son with a childcare provider before. We are not comfortable w/ the idea of an In-Home childcare provider unless they are well known and have been in business for a while. We would like to have a little time together w/o baby while on our honeymoon. We are getting married on Aug.7th 2009. I have heard before that some places offer overnight childcare or extended hour Childcare where if we wanted to go out to an elegant dinner and have drinks or explore Chicago after hours then we could. Anyone know of any good childcare facilities that have reasonable prices with excellent care? On the time of our Honeymoon our son will be 2 yrs old so anyone specializing in that age is a plus. Also, if anyone knows of great places to take him to so that on some of our exploring days he can be included too (besides the Zoo, thats already top on our list) that would also be appreciated. Any websites for Childcare and Exploring are greatly welcomed! Thanks for all of your help!

Have you considered taking a trusted sitter with you?? It may be cheaper and less stressful to take one with you …have her share a bedroom with your son. She may do it just for the adventure.(I would do that when I was 16 or so, and lots of widowed women would jump at the chance.). Because you’ll have extra travel, room, and food expenses. In the day, you could be a foursome, but she could also give you time to yourselves during naps, etc. and stay with your son in the evening for your special times. Congratulations to you!
